Training & Induction

All Care & Support Workers are required to complete all Atlas Care Services mandatory training prior to start. The Care Certificate or equivalent must be held by all care and support workers, where training is needed the company will provide a full induction to obtain the Care Certificate qualification within 12 weeks of employment commencing.

Below are a list of some examples of CSW mandatory training courses delivered either via E-Learning, Classroom or field based.  All elements of the Care Certificates are trained as a minimum standard as well as additional specialist or person specific training courses to enable the workforce to meet the needs of our service users and customers.
  • Corporate Induction
  • Food & Nutrition
  • Infection Control
  • Fire Safety Awareness
  • Basic First Aid
  • Health & safety at Work
  • Medication
  • Moving & Handling including practical use of equipment
  • Safeguarding Children Level 1
  • Safeguarding Adults
  • Dementia & Mental Capacity
  • Shadow Training
One off courses will also be provided for specialist services as and when required. e.g. PEG Feed, Buccal Midazolam (Epilepsy Training).  A full Children's Workforce Induction Programme is also made available to all staff should they be employed to work directly with children and young people. 

Shadow Training

Shadow training is provided to all staff working in the community, additional shadow training may be required in order to work with complex packages.  The amount and type of shadow training will depend upon the type of client group the worker will be working with, their level of previous experience in the industry and dependent upon the shadow trainer competency assessment.
